Halstead Marathon

My forth marathon and only weeks after running Brighton. My first marathon solo as well as I didn't have my support crew with me.

Arrived in plenty of time and the parking was like clock work. Dropped my back off and hung around the start waiting for the off. First 4 miles a bit too quick but eventually got back on pace. At the half way point I was on track for a sub 4.

However, at mile 17 my hip started to play up. At 17.5 I decided to try and walk it off but it just got worse. Ran walked the remaining distance and finished in a disappointing 4:35:51.

Rally nice race around the Essex countryside, well supported and excellent mars halls.

Will be back again next year to do it properly.
