Sunday Cross Country League - Rowney Warren - 22/11/2009 - 5 Miles
My first Sunday League cross country run and the second in the session.
Arrived at the car park and no place to park. However, got luck as someone was just leaving.
Found the others and check if it was trail shoes or spikes. Trail shoes where the order of the day. Got ready and walked down to the start line. This was 3 laps of the woods.
Off we went into a long hill on an access road. Good job too as there where loads of people, around the first corner it got narrow so had to pick my way through the slower runners until I was running a my pace.
Loads of short sharp hills, After all the training we had done found I could power up the hills and pass people only for them to catch me on the downhill. Lap two I seemed to be with the same group of people each of us taking a turn at the lead, it started to rain. Lap 3 and some of the fast men where overtaking me and the heavens opened. Finished soaking wet and no shelter to get dry and changed.
