Mid Week League - Harlow
17/6/20009 - 10Km
The third and my second mid week league for 2009. This one is in Harlow, my birth place, and from what I remember of the place it is flat so should be on for a good time.
I arrived in plenty of time and this time it was an actual sports centre with proper changing rooms, lockers, etc. Bit of change from Royston.
Followed the crowd to the start. It seemed to be miles away from the centre and was on a new development housing estate. Loads of Trent Park runners again.
Bit of a odd start arrangement as we could not all fit in the small lane. Nice but odd course, start was grave path, into a housing estate, then down another gravel path along next to the M11. Across the M11, via a bridge, around a small village, up another grave path to the water station, then road back to the bridge and same route back to the finish. Course not as flat as I was expecting, but the climbs where not steep just long and low.
Found in really difficult this time. My calves are really tight at the moment, the last couple of runs they have loosened after a while, just would not loosen at all. Had to stop a couple of times to try and shake them loose but no good. Could be sports massage time
Finished slower than last time in 52:07 (unofficial) need to do a bit more training and get my legs to loosen up.
