Chingford Cross Country League - Trent Park - 20/02/2010 - 4.76 Miles
We had practised this course the week before so knew what to expect. However, we screwed up and left out an extra loop.
Had been raining for days before so the course was very muddy in places. Decided on spikes as trail shoes would not cut it in places.
At the start we I setttled in behind a fellow club member who normally runs at the same pace as me. However, he seemed a little slow so soon passed him after first checking I was not running too fast.
A fellow club runner had settled in next to me and seemed to be running at the same pace. During the second lap past another club runner who normal is a little bit faster than me. I felt comfortable so kept going, swapping places occasionally with the guy pacing me.
Came up to finial hill I took the inside muddy path and my pacer took the outside path. Into the finish up hill straight he was no ahead of me. That outside line must have been slightly quicker. Sprinted after him flying past people on the way. He beat me on the line by 1 second.
