Brighton Marathon - 10/04/2011

Drove from Worthing to Brighton as we decided to use the "improved" park and ride scheme. We where 20 minutes late leaving  bit not my fault. Just like last year they where queueing down the road trying. However, unlike last year the kids where doing the mini marathon, so this time they jumped out of the car and left me to sort it out. Not really an issue as I had over an hour before the start.

Eventually got into a car park, and then stood in the queue waiting for the bus. We waited and waited, time slippy by, people starting to panic. Eventually 3 buses turn up 30 mins to start time. Arrived at Preston Park with 15 minutes to go. Put on my shoes, chip and Garmin. Striped off my jacket and track suit bottoms, dumped my bag and went to find a loo. Out of the loo push the button on my garmin and nothing! It had locked up and how the hell do I re-boot it? I think I have to push both buttons, nothing, pressed them again, nothing. Perhaps it is like a PC you need to hold the buttons in until it re-boots, did this and it spung back into life and picked up a signal. So I made my way to the starting pen 3 mins before the off.
