I have been working in the computer industry since leaving school at 18.
Initial I worked in the computer retail sector back in the day when you had proper computer shops with people who actual knew what they where doing.
As we not only had to sell the computer we also had to support them I built up a lot of knowledge. Therefore, it was easy when I was given the options to move into technical support. After a short spell I moved to London to work for a legal software house.
This firm was poorly managed and ran into trouble, so a group of us got together and started supporting the customers. We didn't have a product to sell so we looked around and signed up as a dealer to DPS.
We ran into some staffing issues that caused the firm not to be viable anymore so we liquidated it and went our own ways. I shortly after joined Colman Coyle.
After the past 20plus years I have done almost every job in the computer industry from programming to cabling. I have but up a vast knowledge of all aspects of the networked system in particularly Windows, Exchange, SQL, etc.
